EDIT 4-18-09 ...... I still use an older version of Gimp... I think 2.0. No, I don't plan on updating to whatever the most recent one is. I hope that most of the information provided in this tutorial is still accurate, but I am not sure. I deeply apologize if the information is not accurate and hope you find a decent tutorial that is accurate. Also, I have taken a hiatus from DevART, so I won't be responding to comments as I used to. And I apologize. Thanks to those who answer people's questions, it is much, much appreciated. :)

Yet another tutorial from me. I hope it helps anyone who needs help with lineart using gimp.

Thanks for this. I've been using The Gimp on and off for years when other programs wouldn't work, but I had no idea you could start a new path by clicking a middle anchor, haha, I had been stroking the line, then selecting another tool to clear my anchors and then starting another layer every time I needed to break my path. I feel so ignorant right now, haha. You just saved me a bunch of time! Thanks!
:iconskaarer:
The first tutorial I'v found that explains the path tool well. I thank you very much! This was so helpful!!

Thanks !! This is so helpful! heh...

I just thought Id point out that you dont neccesarily need to click an anchor in the middle of the path, just hold shift down as you click. ^^ And if you happen to click on another tool as you're drawing a path, the path hasnt passed into oblivion, its just not visible. Great news! You can get your path back by opening the path dialogue which is.... hang on, It might help if I actually had GIMP open....
Dialogs > Paths (why couldnt I remember that???)
Its like the one for layers. The paths you can see have a little eye next to them, and the one you were doing doesnt, so click somewhere to the left of it to get it back! Yay! This took me many frustrated paths attempts to realise >.<

Hope that helps, it just didnt seem like you knew that little trick when you did this, it was a few months ago...
